Clag - last updated 11 September 2026

Clag ("the app") is a card game developed by Peter Connor. This policy explains what data is involved when you use the app.

Data we collect ourselves

Clag does not require an account and does not ask you for personal information. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or location.

Usage statistics

To understand how the game is used, the app reports anonymous usage events - for example that a single-player game, daily challenge, or tutorial was started or finished. These reports include a random identifier created on your device the first time the app runs; it is not derived from your device or your identity, is not linked to any account, and is not used to track you across other apps or websites. If you are offline, nothing is reported.

Analytics (Google Firebase, Android only)

The Android app also reports two app-interaction events to Google Firebase Analytics: that a single-player game was completed, and that a daily challenge was completed. Firebase collects these alongside device or other identifiers - an app instance identifier created on your device and, where available, your Android advertising identifier - so we can see how many people who install the game go on to play it, and so ad campaigns can be measured. We do not sell or share this data for anyone else's advertising. Google's handling of it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Clag shows ads between games using Google AdMob, and these ads are non-personalised. To serve the ads, prevent fraud, and limit how often you see them, Google's advertising SDK collects technical data such as a device identifier, ad-interaction and usage data, and diagnostic information. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites. Google's handling of it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Online multiplayer

When you play online, the display name you choose and your in-game actions are sent to our game server so the match can run in real time.

If you play ranked games while signed in to Game Center, we also keep a small profile so your progress follows you across your devices and your ranking can be worked out: your chosen display name, your level and experience, your Elo rating, and a record of your rated games. This profile is stored against a one-way, irreversible hash of your Game Center player identifier - not against your name or your Apple ID. Friendly (code-joined) games and anonymous play are not stored once the game ends.

You can delete this profile at any time from the app's Settings, under "Delete Online Profile". This removes your stored profile and rated-game history from our servers; it does not affect your Game Center account.

Game Center

If you use Apple Game Center, leaderboards and achievements are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. We do not receive your Apple ID.

Purchases

Clag offers optional one-time purchases - "Remove Ads" and "Unlock All Rewards" - processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Children

Clag is rated 12+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the ads shown are non-personalised.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this address.
